2004 Stagecoach Vineyard, Napa Valley
The very first vintage for Huron Mountain Winery. Making a barrel of wine, not sure how things would work out and then WOW! This was a blend of 90% Stagecoach Vineyard Cab Sav and 10% 2005 ToKalon Cab Sav. An absolute blockbuster of a wine.
Tasting Notes:
Last tasted in 2016 and was still holding strong. Perhaps a bottle or two are all that remain. The "romance copy" says: Medium deep ruby color with good depth. Complex nose of blackberry and blackcurrant fruit integrated with toasty wood notes and cloves. Well balanced in the palate, with good structure and soft tannins. The fruit blends well with the flavors of toasty oak, and the focus of the wine carries well through the finish.
